1) In March 2008: Global Dialogues on Emerging Science and Technology (GDEST) 2008 Conference organized by US Department of State which took place in Cape Town, South Africa from 17 to 19 March 2008 and I have presented a paper on "Analysis of Data Sharing Environment and Major Challenges Currently Being Faced in Data Sharing in Rwanda". 2) In June 2009: Spatial Data Infrastructure Convergence: Building SDI Bridges to Address Global Challenges, 11th International Conference organized by GSDI Association conference. I presented a paper on “Experiences in Developing Local, National SDI Initiatives, Projects and Programs (NICI Plan) in Rwanda” . 3) In January 2010: I participated at the course on “Ethics, Protocols and Practice of International Research” as visiting Teaching Assistant at the University of Virginia.

II. RESEARCH INTEREST
His research interest lies on the application of Geographic Information Science and Remote Sensing to development related issues and Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI), Web Mapping, poverty reduction, land use/land cover mapping and Climate Change analysis, Natural resource management and Sustainable Development.
Database Systems, Analysis of Algorithms, Web Technologies, Software Engineering, Networking, Specification and design of Graphical User Interface, Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI), I gained all those skills and knowledge in the field of Computer Science.
He has published on spatial data sharing in Rwanda. Hitimana Jean Pierre has been one of the Chair persons of the Global Dialog on Emergency Science Technology (GDEST) 2008 conference which took place in Cape Town South Africa.

2) In November 2008: I published a paper on "the Design of a Clearinghouse arrangement to support framework Data sets in a NSDI. (National Spatial Data Infrastructure) Case study: Rwanda" that I have presented at 5th Annual Conference on National University of Rwanda (NUR).
3) In June 2009: Experiences in Developing Local, National SDI Initiatives, Projects and Programs (NICI Plan) in Rwanda. I have presented this paper on Eleventh International Conference of the GSDI Association in Netherlands in Rotterdam.
