    Dear Colleagues,

It is our pleasure to announce the creation of a new AAG affinity group—one that you may be interested in joining and/or supporting: The Caregiving Affinity Group (CGAG).

MissionThe mission of the group is to conduct research on, provide information about, and build a culture of support for the provision of quality childcare and caregiving at the AAG annual meetings.

Get involved. Our membership organization works in the interests of maintaining and continuing to expand the forms of care provision implemented by the AAG. The initial means of CGAG support will grow through membership dues ($7) to subsidize the on-site childcare options currently arranged by the AAG. Moving forward, we intend to explore additional avenues to subsidize forms of care—such as elder care and support for people with special needs children and relatives—through similar mechanisms.

We invite you to join the CGAG and support our mission! Your dues will help. Note: You do not need to be a caregiver nor be involved in the business operations of the group to support the activities of creating a more inclusive and care-attentive AAG. The process for joining is relatively simple:

    1. Go to AAG.org
    2. Go to Membership, Click on Membership Application and then click big green Join/Renew button
    3. Once you log in, hover over Membership and click on Add Specialty/Affinity Groups.

Note: You cannot click on the Add option before logging in to Renew. You will not be charged AAG membership fees again if you are paid up—you will only be charged a small $7 affinity group fee. If you have any difficulties with this process, please contact the group (anderpants@gmail.com).

Please forward this message to all who may be interested!

Additional information about our group meeting at the AAG is forthcoming.

    Thanks sincerely,

Founding Members of the Caregiving Affinity Group
