TeachOSM for High School
The TeachOSM for High School project will provide educators with scale-able OpenStreetMap (OSM) geography-based educational modules developed to integrate with the United States AP Human Geography curriculum. This project will provide an organized, easy-to-implement format for educators to expose students to an important open source 21st century mapping technology.
Once completed, these resources will be made available on the TeachOSM site, free of charge in a web-based fashion for use by anyone and will be continually updated by contributors.
Long-term, it is the intent of this project that an increase in exposure to and contributions from a younger demographic will result in many benefits including
Call for Educators
- an increase in sustained OSM contributors
- greater accuracy of contributions and
- innovation within and around the OSM project.
The project is currently being developed by TeachOSM community contributors. We need interested educators to get involved in the development of the modules to provide feedback, suggestions, content and eventually pilot modules in their classrooms. The TeachOSM community is fully committed to supporting educators who are interested in integrating OSM in their classrooms with their students.
